VHHA Shared Services Member Program Enhances Value Care Services for 65-Plus Patients
Engage Practice Solutions and VHHA Shared Services are offering a no-cost value care service gap assessment to Virginia hospitals and health systems to demonstrate the capabilities of an innovative, data-driven program designed to assist hospitals in providing cost effective, quality care to the growing 65-plus patient population. The CareWorks 65/Virginia program arrives as the U.S. population of people 65 and older is projected to grow more than 30 percent over the next decade. The result of the growth of this population segment and its impact on health care costs has Medicare in a virtual sprint to issue proposed and final rules to implement value care services to reduce costs and enhance quality while encouraging providers to implement such care programs through the incentive of additional reimbursements. To assist Virginia hospital and health system members in serving this specific patient population, VHHA Shared Services has partnered with Engage Practice Solutions to create CareWorks 65/Virginia – an innovative program from Engage Practice Solutions, a leading physician practice analytics company, that is designed to enhance awareness about the wellness needs of the 65-plus population – and to underwrite the costs of running a real-time, customized value care services gap assessment report card for both in-office and at-home services for member hospitals and health systems as a way to help them determine preventive care utilization rates and identify revenue opportunities.
